Each of the childhood sessions are split between in studio and outdoors to provide a complete series of images in multiple settings. Alisa has a wide variety of props and encourages everyone to bring along several outfits and favorite toys. Family portraits should be planned for annually with a rotation between spring and fall to give a wide variety of art for years to come. These are the years where the baby teeth are precious and time is fleeting. Children are portrayed in seasonal and fantasy sets such as pumpkin patches and fairy wings. Theatrical portraits and Andy Warhol groovy canvases are in the mix for this age range. Sadly, the last of the true smiles begin to fade as the teeth begin to fall and the child goes into a self absorbed and self conscious tween stage. This is a truly special time frame to capture the child and allowing him/her to bring what they want to be photographed in and allowing them to have some say so will ensure a really fantastic session.
